TEP is offered as an alternative to penalties for students who face suspension for violation of a school tobacco-use policy and/or young people who break one of the state’s laws regarding underage tobacco use. The program consists of four sections that address and educate youth about tobacco and its effects, addiction, healthy alternatives to smoking, and resources to quit available to using tobacco products. TEP is evidence-based and meets the requirements of the 2006 Youth Access to Tobacco Prevention Act.
